La Liga side Celta Viga have reportedly submitted a proposal to sign former Corinthians midfielder Petros from Real Betis.
Celta Vigo wants to strengthen their squad this summer as they will most certainly play in the UEFA Europa League next season. Petros, who received some enquiries last month, has a proposal in hand from Celta Vigo, and a meeting next week with the representatives of Real Betis should define if there will be progress in the negotiations. The information was revealed by Brazilian journalist Bruno Andrade on Friday for GOAL Brasil. Born in Juazeiro, Brazil, Petros gained attention in Brazilian football after his move to Corinthians in 2014. Following two good seasons with the club, he was signed last summer by Real Betis, where he is under contract until June 30, 2019. Initially, Betis didn"t have any interest in selling Petros, who was signed for €1.5 million [amount paid for 50% of economic rights – the other 50% belong to businessman Fernando Garcia]. The report adds that tje sale of Nolito would probably yield millions to the club, and Petros is one of the transfers requested by Argentina coach Eduardo Berizzo.
