Corinthians are very close to completing the sale of creative midfielder Matheus Pereira to Italian side Juventus.
The negotiations have been going on in recent days, and according to Globo Esporte, just few details are remaining for an agreement to be completed. The deal should be closed for a fee of €2.5 million, but Corinthians wouldn’t make a significant amount from the sale of one of their main talents from the youth system. They’re entitled to just 5% of the rights, which would yield only €125,000 for the club, while agent Fernando Garcia holds the remaining 95%. Garcia said: “There’s nothing signed, but it’s well underway.”
The board of the Corinthians confirms that they’re in talks, but says an official proposal from the Italian club is yet to arrive. Still, after the last conversations with representatives this week, Corinthians believe that the fate of the 18-year-old midfielder should be Europe.
