A starter at Santos aged just 18 and called up to Brazil’s Olympic national team for their friendlies later this month, Thiago Maia has been attracting the interest of European clubs.
The young midfielder, however, guarantees that he will fulfil his contract with Santos, which ends in June 2019. Thiago Maia has been strongly linked with Fiorentina and also other clubs like Juventus, Atlético Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen. He has beem a starter at the Vila Belmiro side since the arrival of coach Dorival Júnior in July 2015. Thiago Maia said:  “I want to stay, I will fulfil my contract with Santos until the end. There have been news that I will leave in the middle of the year, but that’s a lie. We did not get anything official.”
Thiago Maia has a contract until June 2019 and Santos have 60% of his economic rights. He was also linked to several clubs after a delay in accepting a renewal offer last year.
