Paris Saint Germain winger Lucas Moura is delighted with the French side’s progression into the Champions League quarter-finals at the expense of Chelsea, but he still does not deem PSG as among the favourites to win the tournament.
The Brazilian thinks PSG sit in a bracket slightly beneath main favourites Barcelona and Bayern Munich, “There is the level of Barcelona and Bayern Munich. In my opinion, they are two teams apart, who are the big favourites each season. They are favourites, in my opinion,” Lucas said.
“I think we are very strong this season, even winning a game like this one (against Chelsea). We impose more respect for opponents. We grow, we gain confidence. I think the favourites business is off the field. When you start the game, every game is different,” he said. “But I think we are strong, and have everything to go further in this Champions League.”
