Chelsea coach Guus Hiddink had indicated that Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato should make his first appearance for the club in the coming days, and considering the player"s record in debut games, the fans have reasons to be excited.
Pato has won all five debut games he"s played in his career [Internacional, AC Milan, Brazil, Corinthians, São Paulo], and has scored in four of those matches. The debut of Pato as a professional footballer at Internacional is perhaps the most impressive in the Brazilian"s career. On November 26, 2006, Pato opened the scoring just 92 seconds into the game, against Palmeiras, and then played key roles in the team"s other two goals in a 4-1 victory. In the first official game for AC Milan, a 5-2 win over Napoli, Alexandre Pato almost opened the scoring, but Ronaldo"s shot was over the line when he nodded home. The youngster also had other opportunities before finally finding the net in the second half to complete the scoresheet.
Just over two months later, on March 26, 2008, Pato had his first chance in the Brazilian national team. He came on as a sub in a friendly against Sweden in London, and scored a beautiful goal thirteen minutes later, which proved to be the winner [1-0]. At Corinthians, Pato once again came on as a substitute in the second half, and wasted no time as he scored with his first effort in the 5-0 rout of Oeste. In 2014, Pato had a goal disallowed on his São Paulo debut, but provided the assist for Osvaldo"s strike in a 1-0 victory.
