Chelsea"s Brazilian midfielder Oscar has revealed that he turned down the chance to move to Chinese football during the January transfer window.
Oscar also talked about a slightly controversial incident involving him and striker Diego Costa in Chelsea"s training. Although he had denied a training ground rift at the time of the incident, Oscar admitted that there was indeed a small bust-up between the two. He told The Times: “What happened in training was just one of those things that can happen from time to time. We train very hard and there was a bad tackle from me that he didn"t really like. The whole thing lasted only for a few seconds. We apologised and everything was fine. Even among friends you can have small problems. But, then again, since that little incident Diego has scored a lot of goals for us."
Last month, Oscar was subject to interest from Jiangsu Suning, the same Chinese team that broke the Asian transfer record twice in the matter of days by signing both Ramires and Alex Teixeira for €32 million and €50 million, respectively. Oscar said: “Of course I was sad to see [Ramires] go in the sense that we"re from the same country, we"re friends, we speak the same language and help each other out. But it"s a good move for him. There was interest in me but I have no desire to leave Europe. Chelsea are fantastic, a very big club and I"m still young. I"m only 24 so I"ve got a lot of football ahead of me."
