Lucas Lima has admitted that he was shocked by the wages proposed by Héběi Zhōngjī of China which also tried to take Elias from Corinthians.
Héběi made an outrageous offer to take Lucas Lima from Santos, but the midfielder said he refused a salary of around €1 million per month to continue at his club, with a strong desire to keep his place in the Brazilian national team and wait for an opportunity from Europe. He said: “The figures surprised me. They were too high. I had expected. This puts doubts in you. But I’m focused on Santos. I will be silly to say that I don’t want money. I could end the year with a place in Seleção, and it largely helped me to stay. I felt no desire to leave, regardless of money. Dream is priceless. We have to fight until the end. I always dreamt to play in a big club, and Seleção. Now I will continue fighting.”
