Chelsea are very close to completing the transfer of Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato from Corinthians.
According to the information from Mauro Cezar of ESPN Brasil, representatives of Pato and Chelsea, led by director Marina Granovskaia, reached a verbal agreement over a transfer on Tuesday night. All that remains is to put everything on paper, and the signing of the contract. The business took a bit longer to be closed because of a problem faced by his agent Gilmar Veloz regarding Luiz Adriano’s move to Chinese side Jiangsu Sainty. The Milan striker had travelled to China but didn’t sign the contract following some irregularities in the agreement. Pato’s representatives expects the signed documents soon, so that the deal can be officially confirmed. The report couldn’t confirm the transaction values and contract length, but the fee is believed to be in the region of £8 million to £10 million, and Pato should sign a three year deal.
