Barcelona forward and Brazilian national team captain Neymar is the second-most valuable player in the world, according to a study by CIES Football Observatory.
On Monday, CIES [The International Centre for Sports Studies] released a biannual list of the 100 most valuable football players in the world from the top-5 European leagues [Spanish, English, German, Italian and French]. Lionel Messi is on top of the list, while Neymar occupies second place. According to the list, the Barcelona number 10 is worth €250.7 million, which is €17m less than his value from the previous statement released in June last year. Neymar, who is currently going through one of the best moments of his career and is one of three finalists for the FIFA Ballon d"Or along with Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, has his value raised from €94m to €152.7m. Chelsea winger Eden Hazard, valued at €130.5m, closes the top-3, while Cristiano Ronaldo is fourth on the list, after his value dropped from €119m to €114m.
