Atlético Mineiro’s 23-year-old central defender Jemerson is on the radar of French club Monaco, and the club’s scout has reportedly watched him on a number of occasions.
According to the information from Superesportes MG, Luís Campos, advisor of Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev, accompanied the Atlético Mineiro defender in four games, in and out of Belo Horizonte, and was pleased with what he saw. Luís Campos, responsible for the transfers of James Rodríguez, Falcao, João Moutinho and Bernardo Silva in recent years, has been authorized by the French club to observe and indicate new players. Ad mentioned in ESPN Brasil, people close to Jemerson reckon a proposal of €9 million would be enough for Atlético Mineiro to sell the player, but his representative ensures that Monaco hasn’t submitted an official proposal, yet. More European clubs are expected to be after Jemerson once the transfer window open in January. Club president Daniel Nepomuceno doesn’t deny the possibility of selling the player, although the priority is to keep him for next year’s Copa Libertadores campaign.
