Since his introduction to football, Brazilian attacking midfielder Paulo Henrique Ganso has been subject to several speculations linking him with foreign clubs, but never managed to take that next step.
In an interview with ESPN Brasil, the player"s agent, Giuseppe Dioguardi, revealed that the club turned down an offer of €13 million for Ganso, made by Napoli in May 2014. Dioguardi said: “Paulo Henrique Ganso has a contract until September 2017. He was wanted by other clubs, but São Paulo didn"t want to open talks. There was Orlando City, and Paulo Henrique accepted, but São Paulo refused. Flamengo made an official proposal, but Aidar [former president] said he would ask a very high value, so that a business cannot happen. And there was the proposal from Napoli of €13m. Aidar said that Ganso was very important, but we know that he didn"t agree with the price. And then there was that unfortunate phrase. After this statement, the leaders of Napoli told they didn"t want more."
When asked about Napoli"s interest last year, Carlos Miguel Aidar said that not even all the money from the Neapolitan mafia could take Ganso to Naples. The Italian club had threatened to sue the Brazilian club for the comments made by Aidar.
