Santos president Modesto Roma Júnior did not rule out bringing back Robinho, who is currently at Guangzhou Evergrande, for the 2016 season, but admitted that it would be difficult.
Modesto says that the Vila Belmiro is home to the player and is open to his return, but would have to suit the wage policy of the club. The last passage of Robinho at Santos ended in the middle of 2015 when the attacker decided to go to Guangzhou Evergrande, the Chinese team led by Brazilian coach Scolari. His contract, however, ends on December 31st, and is unlikely to stay there, as he didn’t have many chances to play. Modesto told the club’s website: “Santos is his home, and he knows it. Nothing can be ruled out, but the difficulties are very large.”
About the situation of Lucas Lima, he added: “He is a very important player in the Santos squad. Of course we count on him. Much has been said out there, but for now, the only official proposal that arrived was from a Chinese club which offered US$ 10 million. We find it very little for a player of Lucas Lima’s level.”
