Wagner Ribeiro has revealed that there’s an astronomical offer from a Chinese club for Santos playmaker Lucas Lima, but it remains to be seen whether the player would accept to move to Asia.
According to the agent, the Chinese team are offering a transfer fee of €16 million, and monthly wages in excess of €230,000. As mentioned in Globo Esporte, the club’s board deny receiving any official proposal for Lucas Lima, but the investment fund, Doyen Sports, that owns 80% of his economic rights states that there was an enquiry, but the preference of the player is to go to Europe. Wagner Ribeiro said: “There is really a proposal from Chinese football. It is economically wonderful. But we do not know if it is good for the player’s career project. There are proposals of great teams in Europe and we’ll talk calmly, after Lucas Lima is back from the United States.”
