After a conversation with Ralf, Corinthians superintendent of football, Andrés Sánchez ensures that the player’s contract renewal should happen soon.
Less than a week ago, Andrés Sánchez said that if Ralf refuses to accept what has been offered to him by Corinthians, then he can be happy at another club. Ralf prefers not to play for one of Corinthians’ rivals, but did not rule out that possibility. Andrés was quoted in Globo Esporte: “Ralf is an idol, Corinthians want him to stay. He wants to stay, but his agents think he will play in Barcelona. The problem is financial. Salary is okay, and it’s something with bonuses, but I had a conversation with Ralf and we’ve almost agreed the renewal.”
Ralf, however, denied that an agreement is close. He said: “There’s nothing right. Some things are yet to be discussed. I hope that in the coming days, it will be solved. Playing for a rival? Hard to say ‘I would not play’ today. I know the identification I have with the fans, with the organization, with the board, and the respect I have. Rather not play, but I do not know about tomorrow. I cannot say I will not play.”
