Investment group DIS managed another victory in the Spanish Court in the process that moves against Neymar because of the irregularities over his transfer to Barcelona.
The company’s argument is that Neymar’s mother, Nadine Gonçalves da Silva Santos, is just as accountable as the footballer’s father, given that both parents own 50% of the family businesses from which the player received large amounts of money. Besides the player and his parents, Santos and Barcelona are also part of the process. DIS, who owned 40% of the economic rights of the player at the time of transfer, received around €6 million from the €17m Barcelona would have paid to Santos. However, according to the company, the total value reached €86.2m and demands around €35m.
Santos also filed a lawsuit against Neymar recently, asking €55m in compensation and requesting FIFA to ban the player for 6 months. Santos accused Neymar of infringing Article 62 of FIFA’s Disciplinary Code, which deals with corruption. The document speaks of “bad faith” of Neymar and also cites violations of FIFA’s RSTP.
