Inter Milan midfielder Matías Antonini got his first chance in the professional team of the Italian club on Wednesday, aged just 17.
The young boy from Rio Grande do Sul realized his dream when he came on for Inter Milan in the second half of the Trofeo Luigi Berlusconi tournament against AC Milan on Wednesday, and played around 30 minutes. The boy stood out in early 2015, when he had constant contacts with Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini and was called up to the U17 national team’s training session, although he didn’t make the final squad for the U17 World Cup. He told Globo Esporte: “This night was very special to me. It is an experience that all kids aged 17 want to have. It was the realization of a dream, which gives me strength to grow more and more. Has a lot more to come. I am here at Inter for three years. And very happy, especially for these opportunities I have received.”
According to Globo Esporte, Bayern Munich are closely monitoring Matías Antonini, and contact was made with agent Claudio Vigorelli.
