At the end of a 3-1 defeat to Santos in the semifinal first-leg of the Copa do Brasil, Alexandre Pato did not hide his dissatisfaction with the uncertainty about his future.
The striker, who is on loan at São Paulo until the end of the season, confirmed meeting Andrés Sánchez, former president of Corinthians, and Kia Joorabchian, one of his representatives, in a hotel in the capital city last week. He was quoted in Globo Esporte: “The meeting with Andrés and Kia, it happened. I see many fans saying things which they know. I have little more than 30 days still here at the club. If São Paul are not interested, I have to live my life. I need to know the intentions and also sit with people who have control over me. My managers were together. My will is to be happy. I want to play and work. I dedicate myself to the fullest here in São Paulo, a club that welcomed me very well. Things do not reach out to me. I’m a professional and I need to define my life. If São Paulo doesn’t want me and if Corinthians want, then I’ll have to go back.”
