Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola was full of praise for the club"s summer signings Kingsley Coman and Douglas Costa, but was careful when comparing them to injured duo Ribéry and Robben.
Bayern signed Kingsley Coman from Juventus on loan, with an option for a permanent transfer, while Brazilian winger Douglas Costa arrived from Shakhtar. Both players had brilliant starts to their Bayern career, but Guardiola says they"re still far from reaching the level of Franck Ribéry and Arjen Robben. He told Four Four Two magazine: “Coman and Douglas Costa must eat a lot of soup if they are to reach the level of Arjen [Robben] and Franck [Ribéry] in this club."
Robben and Ribéry have been appearing more in the medical department than on the pitch for Bayern this season. Robben played only in the Bundesliga, while the Frenchman hasn"t been on the pitch since Douglas Costa was signed.
