Santos have released striker Ricardo Oliveira from their trip to Porto Alegre where the team faces Grêmio on Thursday in the 30th round of the Brazilian Championship.
The decision was made by the technical committee and the physiology department of the club. Ricardo Oliveira started for the national team on Tuesday in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers as Brazil defeated Venezuela 3-1 at the Estádio Castelão. The player hasn’t recovered in time to be available to Dorival Júnior for the club’s match in Porto Alegre, and was released to go to São Paulo, where he lives with his family. However, midfielder Lucas Lima, who came on in the second half against Venezuela to replace Oscar, was included in the delegation. But Lucas Lima’s availability is also in doubt, because the Brazilian Federation doesn’t allow two performances in a range lower than 60 hours, and the legal department of Santos awaits a decision.
