The technical director of Californian team Corinthians USA, who are preparing for next month’s US Open Cup, confirmed that they’ve made an enquiry to try and sign Ronaldinho.
Fluminense terminated the contract of the Brazilian legend by mutual consent, and he’s now a free agent again. According to technical director Paulo Campos, the club desires to have Ronaldinho, but the player’s brother/agent Assis has denied that there was an enquiry. Corinthians USA are coached by ex-player Robert da Silva who had a remarkable spell at Santos and has also represented Brazil national team. Paulo Campos was quoted in Globo Esporte: “Yes, we made an enquiry so that Ronaldinho could join the team. Assis, representative of Ronaldinho, comes here to know the team’s facilities. From there, we’ll sit down, think of a project and negotiate any future partnership.”
Assis said: “Really received an invitation of a friend, it was a very quiet thing. I can know the work and the premises, but there was no survey for a contract.”
