At a press-conference after the 4-1 loss to Palmeiras at the Maracanã, Fluminense president Peter Siemsen confirmed that the club have sacked coach Enderson Moreira.
Fluminense are without a win in their last 7 fixtures, losing six and taking just one point out of it. In addition, they’ve lost 9 of the previous 12 games and this poor record was enough for the president to terminate Enderson’s contract. Fluminense were in contention for a place in the Copa Libertadores, but the poor run of games puts them 11th in the Brasileirão table. Siemsen said: “I came here to communicate the termination of the contract of Enderson and the coaching staff that came with him. I want to thank the dedication. Today, in the first-half we were good. But ended with an annoying and ugly defeat. That bothers us a lot, and we have to turn round this bad period. Right now, what we can do is communicate his termination, and we wish him all success. Thank you. It was our decision, and we’re working on a new name.”
