Napoli have confirmed that defender Bruno Uvini will spend the 2015/16 season on loan at Twente.

The Brazil international – capped three times since debuting in 2012 – is set to remain with the Eredivisie based club until June 2016.

Napoli took to their official website to announce Uvini’s departure, as well as Gabriel’s arrival from Milan and Luigi Sepe’s switch to Fiorentina.

Whether Uvini will play for the club again remains unclear. His contract runs out in June 2016 and since arriving from São Paulo for a reported fee of €3 million in August 2012, he has featured just twice for the first-team and had spells away on loan.

Between January 2013 and June of the same year he was with Siena, while last year he made eleven appearances during a temporary spell at Santos.

Prior to joining Napoli, Uvini featured eight times in São Paulo’s first-team and also had a stint on loan at Tottenham Hotspur.

The 24 year-old has seldom played regularly at any of the clubs he has represented throughout his career to date, with Twente his latest opportunity to demonstrate his credentials.

Despite his patchy club career, he has however enjoyed success with Brazil at various youth levels. He captained the under-20’s to victory at the South American Youth Championships and FIFA U20 World Cup in 2011, while he was also part of an under-23 squad that competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
