Orlando City captain and midfielder Kaká has been a perfect fit during his first season in the United States and his excellent form has earned him a call-up to the MLS All-Star side who will face Tottenham Hotspur on 29 July.
And this will be a historical participation for the 2007 World Player of the Year, as he is the first player from the Florida side to be named to the All-Star line-up.
The fact that new MLS recruits Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard have also been named to the squad does, however, suggest that the season’s MLS form was not the only criteria the selectors had in mind.
