As one of the greatest defenders in the world during the 1970’s Elias Figueroa knows a thing or two about skilful attackers.
The 68 year old Chilean is currently enjoying the excitement that the Copa America tournament has brought to his country and says there is one player in particular who the children love to watch.
“He is one of the best in the world,” Figueroa said when asked about Neymar. “Children love to imitate Neymar, it’s fantastic. When a player inherits the armband, he must be a leader on and off the field which he has become.”
Brazil are one of Chile’s main rivals to take the Copa America crown but it seems that Figueroa is happy to see Neymar play well against rival opposition. Despite this, he did hint that he hoped the 23 year old would have an off day if Chile do meet the Seleção later in the tournament.
