Juventus Sporting Director Fabio Paratici is set to hold talks with Monaco over a possible deal for defender Fabinho, according to reports.

Sky Sport Italia, as cited by website Football Italia, claims that the official is travelling to the French Riviera with the aim of negotiating terms over a possible deal involving both Fabinho and forward Anthony Martial.

Juventus had been linked with French midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia, but with Milan said to be pushing hard to secure him, it seems Paratici will be focusing all his efforts on Martial and Fabinho.

Any deal for the latter will however, likely require a tough negotiation, given that he will only be signed outright by Monaco from Rio Ave on 1st July.

The 21 year-old had been on loan in Ligue 1 since July 2013, but has now agreed to join permanently and is expected to be contracted until June 2019.

His form with Monaco – he’s managed three goals and five assists in 84 appearances in all competitions – has earned him reported interest from Barcelona, while Juventus also got to view him up close when they beat Les Rouges et Blancs in this season’s UEFA Champions League.

The Serie A holders will be confident that Barça’s purchase of Aleix Vidal from Sevilla and the decision of Daniel Alves to renew his contract has cooled any possible pursuit from them and with Stephan Lichtsteiner now 31 years-old, securing Fabinho – ten years his junior – would help put a plan for continuity in place.
