Flamengo bosses have admitted they have given up hope of signing Robinho but say they are still hopeful of bringing in defensive midfielder Elias from Corinthians.
Alexandre Wrobel, the club’s vice president, told Seleção SporTV: “Flamengo are no longer interested in Robinho. We checked with Elias and he said that time had no interest in leaving Corinthians, and after that there have been no new facts. He pleases us very much, is an idol of the fans and he had a remarkable spell at Flamengo. If he is affordable and Corinthians accept our offer and the player is willing to come, surely we will act. At this time though, there has absolutely nothing concrete with Elias.”
