Paris Saint-Germain manager Laurent Blanc has denied that a proposal has been made to Barcelona’s Daniel Alves.
The Brazil international – capped 79 times – is out of contract in June has long been paired with a possible move to Les Parisiens.
That talk has only intensified over recent months and weeks, due to Barcelona’s failure to agree renewed terms with Alves.
Despite being forced to work under a transfer ban until January 2016 and potentially going into the 2015/16 season with just Martín Montoya and Douglas as their specialist right full-backs, it seems increasingly likely that Alves could move on.
Speaking before PSG’s UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg against Barça, Blanc was eager to highlight Alves’ talent, but stopped short of confirming whether he will be pursued as a possible addition to his squad.
“There hasn’t been any concrete offer for Dani Alves because he is still a Barcelona player and it wouldn’t be the best moment to contact him,” he said, as reported by website Football Espana.
“He has a commitment with Barça and we are not in the transfer window until the end of the season.
“He won’t be there on Wednesday but he’s still one of the best right-backs in the world.”
Alves will miss the tie with PSG at Parc des Princes due to suspension. The 31 year-old, who was signed from Sevilla for a reported fee of €35.5 million in July 2008, has made 35 appearances so far this season in all competitions and is likely to be replaced by fellow Brazilian Adriano.
