Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini insists there is no problem between Fernandinho and Vincent Kompany after the pair nearly came to blows at the start of the month.

At half time during City’s 2-1 defeat at Liverpool, Fernandingo criticized Kompany for his play in the build up to Liverpool’s first goal. Kompany took exception and the pair had a heated row.

Despite the tension between the two players Pellegrini said the incident was only a minor problem.

“There is no problem. It was a normal thing, nothing more. The team is united,” he said. Manchester City, still second in the Premier League, face Burnley on Saturday.
