Leandro Damião’s second attempt to try to terminate his contract at Santos was rejected by the court.
The striker had requested to the court to rescind his contract in January, but it was turned down. Damião is on loan at Brasileirão champions Cruzeiro and they pay more than half of his salary, with the rest being paid by Santos who bought him from Internacional in 2014. Damião wants to break the contract because he claims Santos haven’t paid him salary and other benefits from October to December. Damião has a contract with Santos for four more years and is on loan at Cruzeiro until the end of the season. The hearing of the lawsuit is scheduled for March 30.
