Inter Milan manager Roberto Mancini remains keen to sign Lucas Leiva despite the player now playing an integral part in Liverpool’s season.
Inter approached Liverpool in January in the hope of signing Lucas but by January 31st the player had cemented himself in Brendan Rodgers first team plans. The 28 year old has been so impressive in recent months that Liverpool have struggled in his absence, losing 8 of the 12 games he has missed.
Mancini has now been told that he will be given funds to recruit a host of new players in the summer. His admiration of Lucas will mean Liverpool will yet again face a fight to keep the player in Merseyside this summer.
