Fernando was crucial yesterday in Manchester City’s victory against West Brom. The Brazilian scored his first goal for the club and was fairly happy afterwards.
“I am very happy to make my first goal and also help the team,” said Fernando.
“It was great, we needed this win and I could help with a goal. The winning streak is very important to us. We know the greatness of the club and we always have to be looking for victories.”
Fernando, Yaya Toure and David Silva were on the mark for the visitors, who slowed down after the break. Snow fell at The Hawthorns and the weather conditions became difficult.
Unaccustomed to the climate, Fernando admitted that the snow hurt his team.
“Really, we did not expect snow,” he explained. “Our team managed to maintain the level. Unfortunately, we suffered the goal at the end, but managed to keep the victor – that was the most important for us in this match.”
