Fenerbahçe have held talks with agent Gilmar Veloz over a possible loan move for Corinthians forward Alexandre Pato, according to reports.

Website turkish-football, citing stories in the Brazilian media, claims that Fenerbahçe are hopefully of agreeing an initial temporary agreement, with an option for a permanent transfer.

Pato has been strongly linked with a move to Serie A outfit Fiorentina over recent weeks, but after neither party chose to confirm the rumours, talk of him returning to Europe had seemingly died down.

The 25 year-old is currently half way through a two year loan spell at São Paulo and managed nine goals in 29 appearances last term to help Muricy Ramalho’s side to a 2nd place finish in the 2014 Brasileirão.

Pato is expected to see out his agreement with São Paulo, but the opportunity for Corinthians to recoup some of the €15 million they spent on signing him from Milan in January 2013 could be a tempting proposition.

Pato scored 12 goals in 37 appearances for the Timão, but has struggled to find the form that catapulted him into the limelight as a teenager when he was at Milan.

The Brazil international – capped 27 times – won the 2010–11 Serie A title and 2011 Supercoppa Italiana with the Rossoneri, but returned to Brazil – he started out with Internacional – after struggling with fitness and form.
