São Paulo have made their first signing of the season after left back Carlinhos signed a three year contract with the club.

Carlinhos is due to have a medical today to complete proceedings and São Paulo manager Muricy Ramalho will be hoping he slots straight into the team.

The 27 year old has been saying goodbye to all of his friends at Fluminense this week as he leaves the club that he joined in 2010.

São Paulo have said the deal will not mean current full back Alvaro Pereira will leave the club. The Uruguayan has struggled with injuries this season.
