Footballing legend Pele continues to improve in hospital and is set to leave the semi-intensive care unit this weekend.
The former Brazilian footballer was rushed into hospital last week after developing a urinary tract infection. Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein released a medical bulletin today to say that his condition has improved rapidly, which will be a relief to football fans all over the world.
Pele also released a statement thanking all of his fans for their best wishes,
“I want to thank all of you, from all over the world, who are worried about my health. I’m fine, recovering. I’m here with my family. I know a lot of people from all over the world are worried about me.”
