Luiz Adriano fired a hat-trick for Shakhtar Donetsk as they hammered BATE Borisov 5-0 in Ukraine this evening.

Mircea Lucescu’s side once again cruised past the Belarus side following their 7-0 demolition last month.

Adriano’s trio of goals sees him become the top scorer in this season’s Champions League with nine goals in four appearances, and the first player in the competition’s history to score back-to-back hat-tricks.

Darijo Srna opened the scoring in the first half with a deflected effort on the edge of the box, before Anri Kaghush was sent off for the visitors at the end of the first half.

After the break Alex Teixeira made it 2-0 before Adriano netted from the penalty spot just before the hour mark.

The Brazilian striker then scored his final two goals in the last seven minutes as Shakhtar strengthening their claims for a place in the last 16.
