Brazilian defender Jonathan is set to meet with Internazionale officials soon to discuss a new deal with the Nerazzurri.

The 28-year-old full-back has a contract with the San Siro club up to June 2015, so if he wasn’t to renew his deal soon he would be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with clubs in January.

Therefore it is believed that Inter are keen to get Jonathan to sign a new deal in the coming weeks and Tuttosport believe talks will take place shortly.

Jonathan moved to Italy in 2011 after departing Santos from his native Brazil, and since the latter part of 2012 has become a regular for the Nerazzurri.

This season the Brazil has started two of Inter’s three opening matches, included the weekend Serie A stalemate with Torino.

Jonathan will hope to be involved against Sassuolo on Sunday too and will be ready to sit down and discuss a new contract at the San Siro outfit shortly.
