Paris-Saint Germain defender Marquinhos praised fellow central defender Miranda after making his full debut for Brazil in Tuesday’s 1-0 win over Ecuador.

The young defender started alongside the Atlético Madrid ace and impressed in Dunga’s second game in charge, since returning as national team head coach.

When Marquinhos spoke to Goal.com, he hailed the skill of Miranda and admitted he has learnt a lot from him.

The PSG man said: “Miranda is a great defender, a champion who is doing a great job, so we’re happy to have someone like him here.

“He’s a guy I followed since I was little, and now I can learn a lot every day.”

Marquinhos went on to explain how happy he was to have made his full debut for the national team.

He admitted it is a dream come true, he added: “I’m really happy, and feeling like the hard work has paid off.

“Above all, I feel like a dream was achieved for me, being able to debut from the very first minute. It was a unique feeling.”
