Roma defender Leandro Castan hopes centre-back partner Mehdi Benatia will stay at the club.
The Morocco international has been strongly linked with the likes of Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Manchester United after an excellent debut campaign in Rome, but Castan is eager for him not to be sold.
“I don’t know what he will do, but I hope he stays with us,” he told Football Italia.
Castan and Benatia were arguably Serie A’s best centre-back pairing last season. The duo ensured Roma conceded just 25 goals in 38 matches.
