Barcelona Head Coach Luis Enrique has explained why Daniel Alves missed the 6-0 friendly victory against HJK.
The full-back, who is yet to play a pre-season match, was left out alongside Lionel Messi and Javier Mascherano.
“We don’t want to risk players who arrived four days ago and have had two workouts,” said Enrique, as reported by Mundo Deportivo.
“They will develop and play games during the season.”
Daniel Alves has been strongly linked with a move away from Barcelona this summer. The Brazil international will reportedly be sold if Juan Cuadrado is signed from Fiorentina.
