Orlando City owner Flavio Augusto da Silva has revealed the club are in talks to sign AC Milan attacker Robinho.

The owner also discussed his caution over the deal and how complicated it is but remains confident something can be agreed with the Brazilian and other clubs.

Football Italia quoted the Orlando City owner after he spoke to Lancenet, he said: “We are in advanced talks.

“But there are still many steps that need to be taken to sign Robinho. Milan have kindly granted us permission to negotiate, and this is something we are doing.”

As with the deal which will take Kaká to the MLS, if Robinho was to join Orlando City he would need to move to a Brazilian club on a six-month loan.

Augusto da Silva conceded that may be a problem, he said: “For us, it’s also important that Robinho plays in Brazil for the next six months, as has happened with Kaká.

“I believe we can do a similar deal, but first we have to get Milan to terminate his deal, sign a contract with the MLS and then with us.

“And then we have to find a Brazilian club that will agree to a loan. It’s difficult, but we’ll see.”
