Premier League club Arsenal have bid £8 million to secure the services Hoffenheim attacker Roberto Firmino.

The Brazilian attacking midfielder enjoyed an excellent 2013/14 season in the Bundesliga, scoring 16 times and creating 11 goals.

And now the Daily Express believe the Gunners have made contact with the German club over a move for the 22-year-old.

Liverpool and Chelsea have also been linked with a move for the Hoffenheim ace but it appears the north London club have stole a march on their rivals.

Although Arsenal have apparently bid around £8 million for Firmino, that offers is expected to fall short of the Bundesliga clubs valuation of the Brazilian.

The Gunners may also face competition for the signature of the 16-goal hitman from Italian side Internazionale.

The Nerazzurri have been keeping tabs on Firmino for months, according to Forza Italian Football, and Tuttomercatoweb believe Inter want to land the forward on loan.

However, Hoffenheim are only interested in a permanent deal but with Arsenal’s bid set to be below their valuation, the future of Firmino remains uncertain.
