Brazilian midfielder Diego Ribas has arrived in Turkey and completed this transfer to Fenerbahce in the latest stage of a nomadic career; Ribas helped Atletico Madrid to the Spanish league title last season for the first time since 1996.
Diego, 29, was mobbed by journalists and fans and briefly told Turkish television station FBTV: “There had been contacts with Fenerbahce for several years. Ultimately, this dream comes true.”
“I came to a winning club and I will continue to win. I want to show my ability. I talked to my friends about Fenerbahce and I am aware of the greatness of this club.”
Fenerbahce becomes Diego’s sixth European club after Atletico, Juventus, Werder Bremen, Wolfsburg and Porto; he began his career with Santos in Brazil, for whom he played between 2002 and 2004.
