Neymar scored Brazil’s vital fifth spot kick in their penalty shoot out win over Chile on Saturday and after the game choose to praise the opposition.
Brazil could easily have exited the World Cup but progressed 3-2 on penalties after David Luiz, Marcelo and Neymar scored from the spot to earn a place in the quarter-finals.
Júlio César crucially saved two of Chile’s efforts from 12-yards to delight Luiz Felipe Scolari and the expectant Brazil nation.
After the game, Neymar was complimentary of the fellow South American and added his congratulations to team mate Alexis Sánchez.
The 22-year-old believes his Barcelona team mate is a star of the 2014 World Cup.
Football Espana quoted Neymar, he said: "Chile are a great team. All my congratulations because they have played a great match.
"Congratulations to [Alexis Sánchez]. For me, he is a star."
