Júlio César – 7 – Faultless for the goal. Reliable when called upon.
Daniel Alves – 6.5 – Too easily beaten in the build up to Cameroon’s equaliser, but grew into the game. Still looks like a potential weak link for Brazil defensively.
Thiago Silva – 8 – The captain was at his best once more, particularly when covering the occasional spaces left by David Luiz and Marcelo.
David Luiz – 7.5 – Solid throughout and committed right to the end.
Marcelo – 7 – Took advantage of Neymar’s forays infield to overlap to good effect. A real a weapon for Brazil going forward.
Luiz Gustavo – 7 – Looked more comfortable after Fernandinho came on. Reliable as ever and got an assist for Neymar’s opener.
Paulinho – 6.5 – An improved performance, but still struggled to impact both in and out of possession. Will fear for his place after been replaced at half-time.
Hulk – 6.5 – Got into some good positions, but too often wasteful.
Neymar – 9 – Moved back to the left and gave his best performance of the tournament. Both his goals were well taken, particularly the second.
Oscar – 6.5 – Was quietly effective, but struggled to really grasp the game as he did against Croatia.
Fred – 7 – Goal will relieve some pressure and was much improved with his link up play and looked sharper in the final third.
Substitutes
Fernandinho – 7 – Scored a nice goal and brought better balance to the midfield. Surely a contender to displace Paulinho for the Chile game.
Ramires – 6.5 – Helped protect Daniel Alves in the closing moments. A disciplined cameo.
Willian – 6.5 – Gave Brazil fresh legs on the counter-attack and linked well with Oscar and Fred.
