PSG striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, often considered one of the best players in the world amongst his contemporaries, has said that former Brazil forward Ronaldo is the best player he has ever seen, eclipsing the modern day superstars that tend to take that acclaim.

The Sweden player told Goal: “The best opponent of my career? I’ve played against many, many good players, so I don’t know who to keep.”

“But I would say Ronaldo- ‘El Fenomeno’. Why? Because he was my idol and because, as a football player, he was complete.”

Ibrahimovic won’t get the chance to replicate either of Ronaldo’s two World Cup winners’ medals this summer, after Sweden lost out in a play-off with a Cristiano Ronaldo-inspired Portugal.
