Brazil face Serbia tomorrow in their final friendly fixture ahead of the 2014 World Cup and head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari is looking for them to be solid in defence.
The host nation are favourites to lift the World Cup but their head coach feels this will only be possible should they become better defensively.
He will be looking for more defensive solidarity tomorrow against Serbia, Lance quoted the 65-year-old today.
Scolari addressed the media and said: “My characteristics as a coach, I follow my philosophy that a good defense gives us the conditions to win championships.”
The Brazil boss will be starting his strongest team tomorrow and confirmed that Dani Alves will be starting.
That was predicted but Scolari has also revealed what he’ll be asking from Alves and young Bernard, he said: “I have said that for the game tomorrow, (Lazar) Marković plays the left side. He leaves the left-winger inside.
“I have asked Bernard to track him constantly and so Daniel (Alves) can accompany him too.”
Interesting instructions from Scolari and if Bernard can follow them it may boost his chances of starting the World Cup opener on 12 June against Croatia.
