Cruzeiro Sporting Director Alexandre Mattos has confirmed he’s held talks with Internazionale over the possible sale of midfielder Nilton.
The 27 year-old has long been linked with a move to the Nerazzurri, but this is the first time that either they or Cruzeiro have acknowledged negotiations.
“Nilton to Inter? We are in meetings at the moment,” Mattos told Calciomercato, as reported by Football Italia.
“But we are talking about it. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
“I can’t say any more at this time.”
Nilton was instrumental as Cruzeiro won the 2013 Brasileirão and has carried his good form into this year’s campaign. The Barra do Garças native has scored two goals in six matches to help A Raposa top the standings going into Week Seven.
