Colombia striker Radamel Falcao will fly to Buenos Aires for his country’s World Cup warm-up games as boss Jose Pekerman pulls out all the stops to ensure his talisman is fit to play some part in the tournament.

The Monaco forward was believed to have no chance of representing the Colombians in Group C this summer after suffering a heart-breaking knee ligament injury at the strt of the year but is now thought to be in with a slight opportunity of being named in pekerman’s final 23.

A statement from Colombia’s national football body said :”Radamel Falcao Garcia will join his teammates in Buenos Aires. At present, the forward is continuing with his physical work at his club Monaco.”

The 28 year-old is crucial to Colombia’s chances of going the distance at the World Cup; with him on board, they are seen as many people’s dark horses to go all the way.
