The Brazilian Football Confederation [CBF] have confirmed a list of seven reserve players for the World Cup.

Seleção head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari named his 23 man squad last week, but a selection of replacements was omitted.

That has, however, now been rectified, with Diego Cavalieri, Rafinha, Filipe Luís, João Miranda, Lucas Leiva, Lucas Moura and forward Alan Kardec selected.

Amongst that list, Miranda and Filipe Luís were seen as surprise omissions from Scolari’s initial selection, while Kardec, who recently joined São Paulo, has never been capped by Brazil.

Brazil reserve list

Diego Cavalieri [Fluminese], Rafinha [Bayern Munich], João Miranda [Atlético Madrid], Filipe Luís [Atlético Madrid], Lucas Leiva [Liverpool], Lucas Moura [Paris Saint-Germain], Alan Kardec [São Paulo].
