David Luiz has praised his Seleção team-mate Bernard.
Luiz describes the Shakhtar Donetsk attacker as his “little brother” and has decided to take him under his wing in the national team.
“Bernard is like my little brother,” he said, as reported by GOAL.com.
“When he first came into the squad I told him I’d help him and protect him. It’s part of my job as Brazil’s second captain.
“He has a great heart, we have a great relationship and we always have fun.”
Both Luiz and Bernard have been selected by Brazil head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari in his squad for this summer’s World Cup. The duo were also part of the team that won the 2013 Confederations Cup.
